She Stormed into my life...

Stormer is ready for her close-up.

Yeah, I know, SUPER cheese filled title.

But I do adore her, and she is very special to me.

A dear doll friend of mine sent her my way because he knew how much I loved Stormer.
(^_^)

I still look at her in complete awe.
Finances haven't been great and I wasn't able to buy any of the Jem dolls, as they retail for $120.
Yikes!
In other words, life hasn't been awesome, and knowing someone is thinking of you even in your darkest hours can really turn your perspective around.

And of course I just had to take a TON of pictures.
However, I will only showcase her best....

I won't let you... let me down... so easily.
Ah yes, I forgot to mention...
She took a lover in the course of the photo shoot, and they are beyond obsessed with one another.

No light, no light in your bright blue eyes...
Stormer:  "It's okay, Cat won't mind if we mix things up around here. She's been sleeping on the job anyway."
Damien:  "It would be nice to see some mayhem around here again."

Upon Stormer's lips a sly smirk forms...

Crap.

Been tryin' hard not to get into trouble, but I, I've got a war in my mind I just ride....
Me: Seriously?!?!!?

So, apparently they jacked another Homme's motorcycle,
and road all over the place pillaging what they deemed "thrilling".

All of this occurred during my nap.
Pretty sure they stole off with my credit card and ordered nefarious weapons for future escapades.

Stormer: "Sorry doll, a crowbar just isn't dangerous enough for my adrenaline laced genetics."

Damien: "Girls with weapons....yes please."

Stormer: "You better mean THIS girl with weapons."

Damien: "Isn't that what I said?"

Stormer: "Cat, think we could order him a muzzle, and some manners?"

Me: You could just be his dominatrix...no, wait...

Stormer: "You're right. Time to teach you a lesson darling..."

Damien: "Wait, what?!"

They disappeared for awhile, and when I saw them again they looked like this...

I need to be free with you tonight I need your love...

I've got to hand it to her, she is both darling and daring.
Damien is screwed.
(^_^)

I hope everyone is well!
I miss ALL OF YOU!!!

A Doll Affinity...in a book!?!

(Photo by Alison Rasmussen of The Fashion Doll Review)

The girl on the above cover is the 3rd Steffie I was commissioned to re-root.

She started life as a Miss America Blonde Quick Curl, and looked something like this...

Alison wanted her to be re-rooted in Cotton Candy Pink Saran with ponytails.
(I purchased her hair from Restoredoll.com)

As you can see from the factory holes, this vintage beauty was no joke to alter.
So I started by giving her an outer line of plugs fit for a modern doll.

Once I had her hair filled in evenly on each side, I started on the LONGEST part I have ever done.
It was made more difficult due to her thick vinyl.
But it was completely worth it.
(^_^)

As you can see from the above photo, there are two tight lines of hair on each side of the future part.
This is something I do with lighter hair colors.
It cuts down on transparency, and gives the doll better coverage.

Here she is almost finished...

This doll was such a special project because I learned SO much.
I want to thank Alison again for such a great experience!
(^_^)
This will be the 2nd time one of my custom gals will be featured in one of Alison's books.

The above Steffie appears in Alison's first book, Steffie: Out of the Box, which you can purchase here.

As soon as I know when and where the 2nd installment can be purchased I will blog it.
(^_^)

Oh, and not only will the Miss America Steffie be in the 2nd book, but so will these gals...

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT!!
Each of you give me hope and keep a smile on my face!!
Sending love to you and yours..

Spring Fever: Introducing the talented Asavina!

(Aylah and Nana modeling dresses by Asavina.)

As an artist, I feel it is so important to spread the word about other artists.

(^_^)

So, today I bring you the talented Asavina.
I decided to do a few photo shoots with clothes she has made.
Some of you have asked about certain pieces that have already been showcased in past photos.

Without further babbling I give you the product of today's photo shoots....

She made the ADORABLE hats, and the dresses! <3 <3 <3

(Gillian and Madeline model dresses and a hat made by Asavina.)

For some reason these two made me think of artsy club kids. 0.0

(Yes, I took the "club kid" thing a lil' further....)

(This dress has also been worn in another photo as a top.)

Speaking of Asavina dresses you may have already seen...

(This is one of my personal favs. Desiree models it beautifully.)

Below is the hat that came with the above yellow dress.
I didn't have time to pair it with anything, so Nana was sweet enough to showcase it.
(All of her hats tend to be AMAZING! Best part is, you can find cute, affordable hats in your size when you visit her Etsy shop. The link is at the end of this post.)

And the last dress you may have already seen was on the crazy blonde (Sammy) during Brini's package opening.

But I felt this dress deserved a better presentation than the one Sammy gave.
Now this girl knows how to wear a dress like a lady!

Next is a dress modeled on my Barbie doppelgänger "Cat" (another mini me)...
She is the only Barbie I have ever found that resembles me even remotely.
I find it kind of creepy...
Onto the dress....

The last dress is modeled on the lovely Kelis...

(This shot really makes me think that Kelis is heading toward
Studio 54 or making an appearance on Soul Train.)

Check out the back...
(I admit that she had to be squeezed into this dress. Totally worth it.)
Beautiful, Strong, and Fierce!
Asavina still has a few of this style listed in different colors.

But her talents aren't limited to dresses and hats...

(She made the stunning blue jacket in this picture. Modeled on a re-root that has since traveled to Italy.)

What I love about her work, is that it is well made, and AFFORDABLE!
In the doll hobby that is invaluable.
I know her as "Asavina" on thedollpage.com.
However, I have also seen her using  the name...

"S.L. Fashion Artique"

So, be sure to look for her using that name, as well as "Asavina".

You can buy her creations at the following links:

Asavina's Etsy

You can see pictures of her lovely creations (past and present) at the following links:

A Special Monster High Doll for My Birthday! (^_^)

My birthday has come along again (March 15th), and I received my very first Monster High Doll.
I don't collect these dolls, but as soon as I saw this one, I HAD to have her.
In fact, I've been wanting her since they introduced her at the toy fair last year.

So...my sweet sister (Nikita) surprised me with my very first (probably only) Monster High Doll.
What makes it even sweeter is that she scoured through all 6 boxes to find the gal with the perfect hair and make-up. How endearing is that?!

Before I got her, here is the list I complied on why this is a Monster High Doll I must own:

1. Her color scheme is purple and black.
2. She is a cat character.
3. She has an adorable hair style.
4. Her name is Catrine, and my name is Catherine.
5. She is an artist! (^_^)

And now, Catrine DeMew is a very speacial addition to my collection, and a MH Mini me.

I pray all of you are well and blessed today, and all weekend long! <3

The 2nd Steffie Commission...

I have been sick for over a week now, and am finally starting to get better.

So, my apologies to everyone for not posting this sooner.

As promised the 2nd Nicki Minaj inspired Steffie.

(^_^)

Here she is BEFORE...

Here is the inspiration for her new look...

 (Not my image.)

And here is the finished Steffie...

(And if anyone knows what doll or set this "Barbie" necklace came from, please let me know!)

Some of you may have already seen this gal on Flickr and my Facebook, but I promised to put her in the blog too.
(^_^)

I also did another re-root project during this process for April...

(She was a Teen Nikki before her re-root.)

I should be posting more again soon!

Welcome to all of my new followers!!
(^_^)

Have a great week!!

Steffie Commission (^_^)

I was approached by a fellow blogger, that many of you know as Alison from The Fashion Doll Review, to work on 3 Steffie commissions.

I was going to wait to share all 3 at once, but I'm just too impatient.
(^_^)

Each one is to be inspired by Nicki Minaj's style.
So, I went looking for inspiration based on what Alison and I discussed.

 Here is her "Before" shot.
She is a Birthstone Beauty Amethyst Barbie.

*~*~*~*~*

We decided on "Seaweed" from Restoredoll.com for her new hair color.

(Here she is pre-part and style.)

Now for the styling of her hair I needed some inspiration, and found this picture...

(Not my image.)

I liked the longer waves but not the bangs.
So after futher discussion, Amethyst Steffie ended up looking like this...

(She was a blast to style, as many of you know, I LOVE experimenting with colors.)

 (Full body shot.)

(And the side by side comparison.)

(^_^)

Back to work I go....

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to read my blog.
I really appreciate each of you. <3
